The injury-ridden QB, who hasn’t played since last season with the Cleveland Browns, recently spoke to ESPN’s  SC6 about getting offers from the Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens but decided to forgo both. He didn’t want to join the Cardinals because the franchise already had three quarterbacks on the roster and he knew that joining the team would place him at fourth string, which means he probably wouldn’t see much playing time. Ironically, the Cardinals’ top two quarterbacks have already been injured, including Carson Palmer who broke his arm amidst a 33 point blow out against the Los Angeles Rams.

He decided to turn down the Ravens because he just wasn’t prepared. The franchise wanted him to play against the Washington Washington Football Team without much preparation in an offseason game, which was what turned Griffin off. But RG3 is still ready to suit up.

“I had interest in the offseason,” Griffin told ESPN. “It just wasn’t the right fit and I had to make that decision for myself to say, ‘Look, if I don’t accept this offer, there’s a chance I won’t play football this year.’ And I would talk to my family, and I was OK with that, OK with the fact that it might happen.”

Griffin is just waiting for the right team to call because his love for the game is still there. “I love football. I miss the game,” Griffin said. “I am ready. So I haven’t given up on 2017 yet. There are some teams that need help and may need help going into the playoffs.”

The injury-ridden quarterback got off to a great start after he made history becoming the first Baylor player won the Heisman Trophy in 2011. In his first year at the helm of the Washington Redskins he set records for the highest passer rating and even led his team to the playoffs. Though he won the 2012 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award, we would never see him reach his full potential because of concussions, knee injuries and a shoulder injury.
