UPDATE:
A suspect who was allegedly armed inside a Walmart in Amarillo, Texas has been shot and killed by a SWAT team, according to FOX News.
The Amarillo Police Department are on the scene of an active shooter situation taking place at a local Walmart, 97.9 The Beat has confirmed.
Officials have asked the public to stay away from the area as they detain the suspect and evacuate patrons out of the west side of the building.
Police have indicated that there is one armed man inside who is believed to be a former Walmart employee and has taken a manager hostage, ABC reports.
There is no word of any injuries or arrests at this time. We will continue to bring you more details as this story develops.
