J. Cole has been quietly having one of the best years in music with a consistent stream of continuous success and he added yet another memorable moment to the list during the close out concert for his 2014 Forest Hills Drive Tour on Saturday night.
Cole has been known for putting his city on his back since the beginning of his career, so it was only right that he end his latest tour run in his hometown of Fayetteville, NC and do so with a bang. The majority of the show went as it has at other stops on the tour throughout the year, but fans were treated to a very unexpected surprise when the lights dimmed and Drake emerged from the shadows to perform a handful his latest hits including “Know Yourself” and “Back To Back.”
As if bringing out a fellow rap superstar wasn’t enough, Cole then sent concert goers into even more of a frenzy when his Roc Nation boss Jay Z graced the stage for a performance of his crowd favorites including, “F*ck With Me You Know I Got It” and “PSA” before later being joined on stage by Big Sean to perform “Clique.”
Both Hov and Drake also had a few words of praise for the Fayetteville MC as the night came to close.
Needless to say, it was a night that Dreamville and Fayetteville won’t soon forget.
