What do you buy for Thanksgiving? Turkey? Dressing? Stuffing? Cornbread? Cranberry sauce and other miscellaneous items? Maybe your family makes some of that stuff from scratch? Cool. What else can businesses sell you? Not much.
Halloween means that you need costumes and candy. If you’re an adult you’re going to want to show off that costume so bars make money from cover charges and alcohol sales. Then there are haunted houses, hayrides and a bunch of other opportunities. And Christmas is Christmas. Besides discounts on certain Thanksgiving-related food items stores have no incentive to make a big deal out of it. So they don’t. And year to year you are too, less and less.
