Just two days after its theatrical release, Kevin Hart’s Let Me Explain was classified a box office hit!
According to Deadline, the stand-up comedy earned $7.4 million in ticket sales during its first 48 hours and is expected to gross well over $29 million by the end of the weekend — putting the film in the running to become the fourth highest stand-up comedy of all time.
Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain from Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment received an ‘A’ CinemaScore from audiences and opened with a solid $4.7M from only 876 dates Wednesday. It’s yet another surprisingly strong debut (including $1.1M from Thursday late shows) from the standup comedian’s rabid and rapidly growing fanbase in the cheapest film of the Fourth Of July field.
The funny man is also expected to score big with at least five new movies scheduled for release over the next few months. Ride Along featuring Ice Cube, Grudge Match featuring Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone, School Dance directed by Nick Cannon, All About Last Night featuring Paula Patton and Think Like a Man Too, staring Taraji P. Henson, Michael Ealy and Gabrielle Union.
