Ron Artest Changing Name To "Metta World Peace"
NBA’s “Bad Boy” Ron Artest Changing Name To “World Peace”
NBA bad boy Ron Artest has found a new peace inside, and found a new name to match it.
Artest filed a petition on Thursday in the L.A. County Superior Court to change his name to “Metta World Peace.”
Artest also announced the name change on Twitter, explaining that the name means peace or happiness in Pali, a language of the Indian subcontinent.
Raised in the tough Queensbridge projects in Queens, New York, Artest rarely has backed down from a fight during a game, and has provoked numerous brawls during his career. Hopefully his actions in the future, will reflect his new name.
