Teyana Taylor may have finalized her divorce from Iman Shumpert on June 27, but the legal battle between the former couple is still ongoing. Taylor is now pushing for Shumpert to be held in contempt of court, requesting that he serve 20 days in jail and face maximum fines for allegedly leaking sealed details of their divorce settlement to the media, according to TMZ Hip Hop.

Taylor’s legal team claims she has faced online backlash after reports surfaced that she was awarded four properties while Shumpert received three, including a Miami condo she says he originally gifted her. She was also granted a tour bus, which she insists she paid for, along with a Maybach she purchased after Shumpert allegedly crashed and abandoned her Rolls Royce without replacing it.

The former couple, once named GQ’s “Sexiest Couple on Earth,” share two daughters—9-year-old Junie and 4-year-old Rue. Shumpert reportedly pays Taylor $8,000 per month in child support. Prior to their settlement, Taylor accused him of withdrawing nearly $4 million from their shared account, leaving her with a $200,000 renovation bill, being under the influence around their children, and cutting off utilities at their family home.

Shumpert, who recently launched the cannabis brand TSA Approved, hasn’t played in the NBA since a brief stint with the Brooklyn Nets in 2021. Meanwhile, Taylor, despite stepping away from music in 2020, will have vocals featured on Hard Times (Smile) from Will Smith’s upcoming album Based on a True Story, set to release on March 28.

She plays a role in Hulu’s legal drama, which also stars Kim Kardashian, Glenn Close, and Ed O’Neill. Additionally, she wrapped filming on Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, a big-budget adaptation of Vineland, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Regina Hall, set for an August 8 release.

Taylor also has two upcoming Netflix films—Tyler Perry’s Straw and Joe Carnahan’s crime thriller RIP. Despite personal challenges, her career remains in full swing.
