Since the airing of the documentary earlier this month, artists such as Lady GagaChance The Rapper and others have apologized for collaborating with Kelly with Gaga removing her Kelly collaboration “Do What U Want,” from streaming services.

Kelly has also been removed from the RCA website. He had been signed to Jive since the beginning of his career in the early 1990s when he was in a group, R. Kelly and the Public Announcement. When Jive became part of Sony BMG, he was moved under the Sony umbrella. He had been under contract at RCA, a subsidiary of Sony since 2012.

An interview with one of his accusers Tracy Sampson is set to air on January 18 on Dateline for more insight on the mix of music and sexual allegations.

Sampson says she was sexually abused by Kelly in the summer on 1999 when she was 16 years old working as an intern at Epic Records. According to Sampson, he forcibly kissed her then initiated a sexual relationship with her all while she was underage.

“‘Can I kiss you?’ and I was like, ‘No,’ to which he responded, “‘Well, give me a hug.’ And then, like, when I gave him a hug he just started kissing me,” she says. “I was in love with him. I just didn’t know what to do. Like, I didn’t know if this was normal. I didn’t know if this is how adults acted.”

Scandal has faced R. Kelly for nearly three decades. In 2002, he was arrested on child pornography charges and was ultimately acquitted in 2008. In recent years, more allegations have surrounded the singer from alleged sex cults to abuse of women. The singer has denied all of these accusations.
