Why The Ratings At The “Today Show” Are Up

Weeks ago Matt Lauer was let go from the “Today” show after he was accused of sexually assaulting several women. According to Variety, “Good Morning America” has always beat the “Today” show in ratings. Normally “Good Morning America” captures audiences between the ages of 25 and 54.

Over the past several weeks and after the departure of Lauer the ratings has been up for the “Today” show. When Lauer first left it lost some viewers and with Hoda Kotb filling in for him ratings have gone up. During the first week of December, “Today” had almost 1.64 million people tune in.
Reports also state that since the wildfires “Good Morning America” has had to cut some of their broadcast in Los Angeles. The ratings for the “Today” show might not last, but for now they are enjoying it. Do you think the ratings changed because of Lauer’s departure?
