Jill Scott Lands A Role In CW’s “Black Lightening” Series [VIDEO]

From the concert stage to the television screen, Jill Scott is gearing up for her new role as “Lady Eve” on CW’s “Black Lightening.” Scott will play a villain and according to Entertainment Weekly she will be the bridge between Tobias Whale and corrupt leaders.

Scott has an alter ego which is the owner of a funeral parlor. Executive producer Salim Akil said, “Jill is an amazing artist who can embody any character and give them an authentic voice that is both nuanced and richly complex. I am excited to see her in the role of Lady Eve.”
The show is being be developed by Salim and Mara Brock Akil alongside several other people. Scott previously voiced “Storm” on BET’s animated series “Black Panther.” She has also acted in “Being Mary Jane,” “Why Did I Get Married” and more. We look forward to seeing her in this role.
