Oscar winner Jamie Foxx prefers to keep a bit of mystery between himself and those he admires, which is why he refuses to meet JAY-Z.

Foxx told People magazine that he’s “a little in awe of Jay-Z.”

And although the two shared a table at Rihanna’s Diamond Ball, which was recently held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York, the two celebrities didn’t exchange pleasantries.

“I like to keep that mystique of him. I don’t ever want to be too close,” the actor and comedian explained. “I keep Jay-Z on a certain level.”

Foxx shared his reluctance to meet the rapper stems from the bond he created with his father, Darrell Bishop, while watching Beyonce’s husband perform.

“I took my father to see Jay-Z, not too long after 9/11… this was our first moment of bonding, and I was like, ‘I’m gonna take you see somebody, pops.’ And we watched that guy, and we had a great moment,” he recalled.

Meanwhile, Jigga has reportedly turned down an offer to perform at the Super Bowl.

According to a report in The Sun, reps for the NFL offered the rapper the coveted Super Bowl Half-Time show in 2018.

“He has enough songs to create an incredible performance but he really has no plans to do the half-time show,” a source told The Sun.

Organizers are reportedly looking for someone to top Lady Gaga, who drew in over 117 million viewers for the 2017 Half-Time show.

But, the list is short.
