“Detroit” tells the story of not only the 1967 riots, but what happened at the Algiers Motel.

Algee Smith and Leon Thomas III, who play roles in the film spoke with Headkrack about not getting the full script so that they can go into an unknown place and everyday recreating the events that happened.

Headkrack spoke about how the movie put him on an emotional rollercoaster and said, “It was a real life horror movie with events.”

The young men both play musicians in the film that are trying to leave a Motown showcase and head to safety, but end up at the wrong place.

Although the movie was just released the two actors are thinking about there future.

Leon’s passion is to focus on his music and Smith would love to start working on projects about Black inventors.
