Forty-two-year-old former NFL player Antonio Armstrong and his wife, Dawn, were shot and killed Friday at their home in Houston, Texas, allegedly by their 16-year-old son, reports NBC News.
The teen, whose name has not been released, has been charged as a juvenile and was being questioned Saturday by investigators in connection with the deaths, writes the television news outlet.

Armstrong, 42, “played one season with the Miami Dolphins in 1995 after starring at linebacker for the Texas A&M Aggies. He was named an All-American his senior season with 62 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 18 tackles for a loss,” writes the New York Daily News.
Two of the couple’s other children were in the house when the shootings happened around 2 a.m. local time Friday and neither was hurt, the station reported.
A stunned investigator who called the Armstrongs an “all-American family” said they have not yet determined a motive.
“This was an outstanding family,” Houston police homicide investigator Jimmy Dodson told KPRC. “He was an associate pastor in the area church. He’s a great guy. The mother was apparently a great mother, according to family members.”
The Daily News reports that a GoFundMe page was created to help the family.
Rest in peace, Antonio and Dawn Armstrong.
