Solange Debuts New Song For Ferguson & Baltimore Titled “Rise”
The Knowles-Carter family haven’t been quiet about their support for victims of police brutality, and now they’re dedicating songs to the victims and their families.
Solange Knowles debuted a new song titled “Rise,” which she dedicated to the people of Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore, Maryland. Solange, who was performing at HBO’s “Bessie 81 Tour” in Los Angeles, also entertained the crowd with multiple tracks from her 2012 project True.
The good folks at Rap-Up caught the moment leading up to Solange’s debut.
“We’re gonna attempt to play a song for the first time that may or may not be on the record, but it probably will be,” she said. “I wrote this one for Ferguson, for Baltimore, and it’s called ‘Rise.’”
Solange’s forthcoming album is slated to drop later on this year.
