19-year-old Isaac Tiharihondi is charged with two counts of capital murder, according to Houston Police.
On 9:30 a.m. Monday, February 2, the bodies of Israel Ahimbisibwe, 51, Dorcus Ahimbisibwe, 47, and Israel Ahimbisibwe, Jr., 5. were found in a back bathroom at the family’s apartment in Houston by the maintenance man.
On the Sunday prior to the gruesome discovery, church leaders expressed concern at the family’s absence at church service, since they hadn’t responded to any messages, and hadn’t been heard from at all since Tuesday, January 27th.
Court documents say that Tiharihondi used a lamp, a baseball bat and a hammer to carry out the murders, though the manner and cause of death is unavailable pending the completion of an autopsy.
Investigators found Tiharihondi in Jackson, Mississippi, where he was taken into custody on Wednesday, with the help of the FBI in Houston and Jackson.
In addition to 19 year old Tiharihondi, the Ahimbisibwe family is survived by another son, 17 years of age, who attends boarding school in California. Prior to the murder, 19 year old Tiharihondi claimed to friends and relatives that he was due to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps at the end of January. Upon police investigation, however, the military said they had no record of him being admitted.
