Fantasia’s latest album, “Side Effects Of You” has been received with open arms that are also hanging in the air, waiting to embrace the “American Idol” winner. This is a departure from the typical reception of Fantasia. This from-the-gut singer has seen her fair share of drama and she’s inviting us all to move on with her. For Fantasia, it goes beyond music. She wants to now be seen as a classy woman with incredible musical talents and after 10 years in the game, Fantasia’s back to the music she grew up on–”Rock Soul.”

Working almost exclusively with famed producer, Harmony Samuels, Fantasia’s new album offers fans a mature, candid and emotionally raw manifesto of just how much she’s grown. We’ve already heard hit singles, “Lose To Win,” which chronicles what Fantasia’s done in her life for all of us to see. She’s finally winning through all of her losses and it’s beautiful to listen to. And let’s not forget the hot-for-the-summer track, “Without Me” featuring Kelly Rowland and Missy Elliott that proves Fantasia can be sultry too.

Grabbing influence from women in music like Diana Ross, Billie Holiday and Josephine Baker, who (in Fantasia’s words) carry themselves in such a way, you can’t help but admire them, Fantasia’s hoping her new sound allows her to be equally as iconic.
