Anthony Barre, Also Known As Messy Mya, Dies In New Orleans
Just after 8 p.m. on Sunday, local rapper and comedian Messy Mya, born Anthony Barre, was shot to death in the 7th ward. He had attended a baby shower for his unborn child before heading to the block party where he would be murdered.
Barre is best known for his YouTube videos which were extremely popular before his death and even more so now. In some videos he would rap, while in others he would speak off the cuff as the brash, comedic Messy Mya.
