Patriots Cut Tiquan Underwood Hours Before Super Bowl
Patriots Cut Player Hours Before Super Bowl
In what many are calling a heartless business move, the New England Patriots cut wide receiver Tiquan Underwood just a day before playing in the Super Bowl. This is the third time this year Underwood had been cut from the team.
There were no disciplinary reasons from the move, the Patriots wanted to make room on the roster for Defensive End Alex Silvestro.
To his credit, Underwood was a class act in his reaction to the move, stating on his Twitter page that he was still cheering for The Patriots.
“Good Luck To The New England Organization, The Coaches, & All My Teammates… #PatsNation,” he wrote. “THANK YOU Everyone For Your Support & Sympathy. Im Fine, This Will Only Make Me Stronger…Tough Times Never Last But Tough Ppl Do #TeamWood.”
Underwood was third on the New England depth chart behind Chad Ochocinco and had three catches for 30 yards on the season.
