Maya Angelou Says She “Will Not Be Divided” From Common
After the New York Post posted a story, claiming that legendary poet and author, Maya Angelou was disappointed in rapper Common for his use of the N-Word on their collaboration, “The Dreamer,” Angelou called in TV program, 106th And Park, while Common was on, voicing her support.
Angelou referred to Common as a genius and said she would not be divided from him.
“If you want to control the people, separate the people and you can rule them. Divide them and you can conquer them, I will not be divided from Common,” said Dr. Maya Angelou as she quoted Nicolo Machieveli.
