A Tribe Called Quest Movie Wins L.A. Film Festival Award
LOS ANGELES — “Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest” won the Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature at the Los Angeles Film Festival.
The movie covers the history and music of the group, the relationship between members Phife Dawg and Q-Tip, and the former’s health struggles.
The movie, directed by actor Michael Rapaport, made news earlier this year when Q-Tip took issue with the movie and criticized it publicly. Q-Tip was the only member of A Tribe Called Quest who was not at the Los Angeles Film Festival screening.
