NeNe Leakes Says Kenya Moore’s Exit Left Bravo Desperate, Forcing Them to Bring Back Phaedra Parks to “Save” the Show

NeNe Leakes is not holding back when it comes to her thoughts on the current state of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. On a recent episode of her talk show, the reality star shared her opinion on why Bravo decided to bring Phaedra Parks back—and according to NeNe, it all has to do with Kenya Moore’s departure.

Without calling Kenya out directly at first, NeNe referred to her as a “fire starter,” someone who brought the drama that kept things interesting on the show. “That’s what makes the show entertaining,” NeNe explained. But now that Kenya is gone, NeNe believes Bravo is scrambling. “This is why they went and got Phaedra. They wanted Phaedra to try to come on and help save. That’s what it feels like,” she said.

NeNe also posted to her Instagram Story, throwing even more shade. She shared a throwback clip of Kenya Moore discussing her own exit from the show. In the video, Kenya suggested that when the network phases you out, it’s a clear sign they no longer see you as valuable. “That clearly means that the network is sending you a message. You’re not as important as you think you are,” Kenya said in the old interview. “You’re replaced or phased out, and you just have to move on.”

NeNe didn’t say much in response—just added the caption, “The message is very clear…” followed by a side-eye emoji, letting fans read between the lines.
The former RHOA star left the show at the end of season 12 after contract negotiations reportedly broke down. At the time, she accused the network and executive producer Andy Cohen of unfair treatment and racism, further straining her relationship with Bravo.

Though she’s no longer on RHOA, NeNe has stayed vocal about the franchise’s direction—and from the sound of it, she doesn’t believe it’s moving forward without some major patchwork. With Kenya out and Phaedra back in, she’s making it clear that Bravo is pulling familiar faces in hopes of keeping fans tuned in.
