Brandy Reveals She’s Releasing a Memoir in Fall 2025

Brandy is ready to open up about her incredible journey in a new memoir set for release in the fall of 2025. The Grammy-winning artist, now 45, will share the full story of her life, from her Mississippi childhood to her rise to fame with her platinum-selling debut album, Brandy, at just 15 years old. Her journey also includes her breakout role in the popular sitcom Moesha and her historic portrayal of Disney’s first Black princess in the 1997 TV movie Cinderella.

The memoir will explore the challenges Brandy faced, including her struggles with body image, bullying, love, heartbreak, and the “unimaginable lows” that ultimately helped shape her into the woman she is today. In addition to her memoir, Brandy made waves in 2024 with a role in the A24 horror film The Front Room and reprised her iconic role as Cinderella in Descendants: The Rise of Red on Disney+. Reflecting on her role as Cinderella, she shared how meaningful it was to inspire others, especially young girls, to dream big and pursue their goals.

Brandy’s memoir, slated for release on October 7, 2025, is now available for preorder through Hanover Square Press, and she hopes that sharing her story will inspire others as she reflects on the healing process.
