On the latest episode of the Joe Budden Podcast, Budden unleashed a scathing rant, calling Drake a “selfish lying manipulative sack of sh*t.” He accused the rapper of years of behind-the-scenes manipulation, claiming that Drake had made enemies for 15 years and only now faced the consequences. “You’ve been behind the scenes being the biggest sack of s### you can possibly be,” Budden said. He also criticized Drake’s relationship with UMG CEO Lucian Grainge, suggesting that Drake had been protected for years due to his fanbase and connections. “Because he’s got fans and had Lucian [Grainge], everybody just gets to turn a blind eye,” Budden said.

Budden also hinted at personal betrayals, mentioning Drake’s fallout with Metro Boomin and describing him as “grimier” than fans realize.

The rapper’s lawsuit has two main parts: accusations of UMG manipulating streaming numbers to promote specific songs, and a defamation claim against Kendrick Lamar over “Not Like Us,” which Drake says falsely accuses him of being a sex offender. Drake alleges that UMG knowingly allowed the song’s release despite the defamatory nature of its lyrics.
