In today’s societal climate, threats are not to be taken lightly…especially towards the Vice President.
Frank Lucio Carillo (66), a Virginia resident, appeared in federal court on Monday facing charges for making death threats against Vice President Kamala Harris. According to court records, Carillo, using the right-wing social media platform Gettr, directed threats not only at Harris but also at President Joe Biden, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and several Arizona officials. The FBI found 4,359 posts from Carillo “targeting various public officials,” including Harris.
In his posts, Carillo allegedly threatened to “cut [her] eyes out” and described violent ways he intended to kill Harris. He used explicit language in one post, calling Harris a “b*tch” and wishing for her to “suffer a slow agonizing death.” The documents also reveal other disturbing content, such as an Islamophobic post from 2023, where Carillo wrote that people should “go out with your guns and kill all Muslims.”

When FBI agents arrived at Carillo’s home, he reportedly acknowledged his online activity, asking if they were “about the online stuff” and stating, “I posted it.” Carillo also said, “I guess I’m gonna need a lawyer,” according to the court documents.
