Tay Tay may have missed out on Toni’s lackluster party but she is definitely front and center at the 2017 Soul Train Awards.
Of course we’ve already seen how it all goes down at the Soul Train Awards because it aired back in November but, it still lovely to see the recaps throughout this episode.
Both Tamar and Toni SLAY on the red carpet! And, let’s take a moment to remember and acknowledge that BOMB performance Tamar gives of her single “Blind.” She sings that song with so much passion you almost forget she’s not showing up for anybody or talking to her own mother.
Toni receives the Legend Award and takes the stage to deliver a phenomenal performance of her hits. She spots Tamar in the front row rocking out to her song and decides to go over to her and sing “He Wasn’t Man Enough” together.
She says it was her way of letting Tamar know she’s there for her and she misses her sister.
In the meantime, while in Vegas, Trina and Traci pop into a weed shop, Canna Copia, to see what they can get their hands on. After all, it’s legal to smoke marijuana in Las Vegas. Instead of the traditional plant, they opt to purchase a bath bomb (cannabinoid-infused bath product). With everything that’s been going on, they could use a nice calming, euphoric bath.
Meanwhile, over in Atlanta, GA, Towanda has been handling her business with her play. She hates missing Toni’s party so she FaceTimes Trina and Traci to check in and find out how everything is going. She also reveals that she has a date with some mystery man and the girls want to know who this “date” could be, only Towanda’s not spilling the tea.
Her mannequin challenge game is on point though! She wants Trina and Traci to stop asking questions so she makes them think there’s a bad FaceTime connection freezing in mid sentence. No movement at all. But the trees behind here were definitely still moving and swaying in background so – nice try, Towanda.
