We get it — the Grammys definitely have a sketchy history when it comes to honoring people of color. But this year’s show is the most diverse it’s been in a while, and besides supporting our people, here are six other reasons to watch the 2018 Grammy Awards on Sunday.

Anything that leaves Los Angeles for New York has a certain undeniable energy that you can feel through the screen.

Kendrick Lamar Opening

You already know how it goes when Kung Fu Kenny opens an award show. We’ll be talking about it for months. He’s also rumoured to be bringing Dave Chappelle out with him. We shall see.

For the first time in 19 years, no White man was nominated for Album Of The Year and Hip Hop royalty will reign. That’s a good enough reason to watch.

Jay Z May Take Home The Big Four
