But there is always a prevailing message taking up the airwaves that gets most of the attention. Right now, that message has a lot to do with popping pills and drinking lean, and while party culture in music certainly isn’t ever going away, as a culture we could benefit immensely if we dialed it back.

Rapper Joyner Lucas, who recently got the whole internet’s attention with his song, “I’m Not Racist,” and its music video, shined a light on the issue. He did a remix to Lil Pump‘s “Gucci Gang,” where he addressed hip-hop’s current obsession with drugs.
