Variety reports that Jones will get a one-hour show in January along with hosting an original documentary series set to dissect instances of “reconciliation, hope and redemption within the criminal justice system.”
In his show, Jones will discuss subjects like how Donald Trump got elected, the anti-Trump movement and the future of the Republican and Democratic party. Jones is no stranger to CNN as he’s been on the network and hosted town halls under the name The Messy Truth where he looks for the truth on cultural issues and policies across the nation.
In an interview with Variety Jones explains, “I just want to mix it up a little bit. I really understand how dad-gum smart people in the middle of the country are.” He continued, “I also understand how the coastal cosmopolitan crowd can really come off as holier than thou and snotty, but of course I really embrace those strong liberal values you find in the blue states.” He concluded, “I really think that gives me something to bring to the national conversation.”
If you’re a fan of Jones or just interested in seeing what his show will be like, tune into CNN this January.
