Rep. Shelia Jackson Lee is known for speaking out about many different issues and on Monday evening she did something different. Lee took a knee on the House floor to condemn Trump. According to Black Voices she spoke about why she did it.

Lee said, “I kneel in front of the flag and on this floor, I kneel in honor of the First Amendment, I kneel because the flag is a symbol for freedom, I kneel because I am going to stand against racism, I kneel because I will stand with those young men and I’ll stand with our soldiers and I’ll stand with America because I kneel.” Rep John Lewis even followed up saying, “nothing wrong with kneeling down to stand up against injustice.”
After Trump’s remarks a couple weeks ago about NFL players taking a knee, she wanted to kneel with them. We wonder if any other representative follow Lee’s steps.
