Charisha Gobin, who is pregnant walked into the Buzz Inn Steakhouse with a black crop top on and a long skirt and that’s when the trouble began.
The waitress said, “I’m sorry, you can’t be here in that shirt.’ Gobin commented and said, “Are you being serious with me right now?’” The waitress responded with, “Yep, you can’t be here.”
Gobin mentioned that she felt as if someone was body shaming her because she had her pregnant belly out and believes if she had something else on it wouldn’t of been a problem.
She wrote about it on Facebook which has recently been erased, but the responses she received were very positive. Gobin and her family went to another restaurant where they were served.
Buzz Inn Steakhouse wrote a statement saying, “We sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding and will cover with all staff as to how to not overly enforce a rule that is intended to make all guests feel comfortable. Our apologies for the misunderstanding. The server in question has been with our company and a great employee for almost 20 years and was trying to use her best judgement (sic) and by no means was trying to be demeaning to the guest again our sincere apology for misunderstanding.”
