Every week fans can’t wait until midnight strikes so they can look at the new episode. If you’ve been watching you know that the character Tariq played by Michael Rainey Jr. has been acting out of order this entire season. He’s gotten himself into trouble trying to live more of a streets life and ultimately his twin sister paid for it.
Executive producer, Courtney A. Kemp according to The Jasmine Brand explains exactly why she decided to kill the character off. Kemp said, “It had a lot to do with the inevitable, which was that Tariq was getting more and more over his head in dealing with a world he doesn’t understand. What are the natural consequence of messing with gangsters? You get hurt.”
Kemp felt it was better to see Raina’s character die not based upon her father Ghost’s action, but rather her twin brother that is so connected to her. The reaction to Raina’s death on social media was crazy and we can’t wait to see the season finale on September 3rd at 9pm.
