Kendrick Lamar‘s new album, “DAMN,” sold 610,000 copies in its first week, smashing records set by Drake just about a week beforehand. While Drake is undoubtedly really good at making hits that chart high for long periods of time, there is something about Kendrick Lamar’s brand of success that is special in a different way, and it has a lot to do with his fans, and what it is about Kendrick that they latch onto.
