Kenny Lattimore: “I Wanted To Be Like BeBe & CeCe Winans When I Came Out”
Singer Kenny Lattimore came by the studio to talk about his upcoming Christmas album- the first he’s ever done -and talks about being a man of Christian faith who sings R&B. As Erica Campbell points out, many music-lovers of Christian faith don’t know how many R&B artists are out there who are truly rooted in their love for God. Kenny talks about the fact that he set out to be an artist similar to Bebe & Cece Winans, but he kept getting R&B deals as opposed to gospel deals.
Kenny also explains what happened when he went to his pastor to ask for advice, because he wanted to sing gospel, but just wasn’t getting opportunities that would really allow him to. At the end of the day, he said, “I knew I was coming back to gospel at some point.” Click on the audio player to hear more in this exclusive interview from “Get Up! Mornings With Erica Campbell.”
