Obama also took to the podium in Warsaw to address the two fatal shootings saying, “We have seen tragedies like this too many times. All of us as Americans should be troubled by these shootings. These are not isolated incidents, they are symptomatic of a broader set of racial disparities that exist in our criminal justice system” he said.
After running off a list of disturbing statistics about minorities and cops Obama said that it isn’t just a black issue.
“When people say black lives matter, it doesn’t mean blue lives don’t matter. It’s about us recognizing there is a particular burden placed on a group of our citizens. This is not just a black issue, this is not just a Hispanic issue, this is an American issue that we should all care about,” the president continued.
