A Tribe Called Quest And Outkast Album Was In The Works Before Phife Dawg’s Death

This is sad news for music heads everywhere.

During an emotional tribute to the late Phife Dawg, Andre 3000 revealed a Tribe Called Quest/Outkast collab project was in the works before Phife’s untimely death, Rolling Stone reports.

Fans, friends and family members celebrated the life of Malik Taylor at the historic Apollo Theatre in New York City Tuesday night.

Musical heavy hitters like Busta Rhymes, Kanye West, Chuck D and Michael Rappaport all gathered to pay ode to the influential rapper.

Andre 3000 took the stage to reveal the two rap groups were working on a project together that would’ve been epic:

“I’m going to say some interesting news and some disappointing news at the same time. About a year or two ago, we were talking about doing a Tribe Called Quest and Outkast album,” he revealed.

We would’ve loved to hear that.

After Kehlani’s alleged suicide attempt, Chris Brown made some searing Twitter remarks aimed at the troubled R&B star.

His words made artists like Zendaya and Tinashe promptly unfollow him.

Chris slid into The Shaderoom to say he was unbothered:

“2 On” singer, Tinashe, wasn’t here for any of it.

She defended Kehlani during an interview with San Franciscos’s KMEL and brushed off Chris Brown.

“it’s not a big deal to me. I don’t think that follows on Twitter are a big deal….if I see him, I would love to speak to him. I would love if he reached out. I have absolutely nothing against him.”

She continued explaining how hard it was to watch the cyber bullying aimed at Kehlani:

“It was just a lot,” she said. “It’s always hard when everything that’s really personal is just on social media in general. It’s just a messy situation. It’s not nice. It’s not nice to see. It’s not fun. It’s not positive.”
