In her ongoing quest to remain relevant, Stacey Dashrushed to the defense of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trumpon the heels of his canceled Chicago campaign rally. Trump was forced to suspend the rally due to the threat of violence between supporters and protesters.

“There’s a lot of talk about Donald Trump being violent, condoning it, or at least inciting it,” she writes in a rambling blog post at her Patheos website.
“But this is a total misread of our next President,” she continued. “First of all, he’s not responsible for what every random guy does — out of thousands. (And by the way, I don’t condone the violence that has happened so far.) Second of all, he’s not violent, he’s just “street.” He was born inQueens.”
But the Fox News contributor quickly recanted the “street” argument, noting that Trump grew up in privilege.
Citing her upbringing in the hardscrabble streets of the South Bronx, saying she grew up fighting people twice her size, Dash defended Trump’s rough-and-tumble persona.
“Anyway, I’m not saying that Donald Trump grew up slamming people’s heads into walls,” she writes. “But there is something about growing up in New York, a certain toughness instilled, a certain level of ‘street’ that can’t be ignored.”
