Kevin Hart Hosts Party

In what may have been his worst year yet, things continue to go downhill for Meek Mill.

He’s got the girl, the money, and (arguably) the bars, but Meek just can’t seem to win in 2015. After he accompanied his girlfriend Nicki Minaj to the American Music Awards, news that the Dreamchaser may face jail time surfaced.

As we previously reported: “The “Wanna Know” rapper is on probation from a 2009 gun and drug charge, so before he travels anywhere outside Philly, he needs permission from his probation officer. Well, this time he left without getting said permission.”

In a shocking (but not-so-shocking) update, TMZ reports that a judge ruled Meek has, in fact, violated his probation.

Meek testified in Philly for more than an hour, and during the testimony he got emotional a few times, including while describing how much it hurt not being able to go see his mom in N.J. after she had surgery. But all of Meek’s out-of-state travel has to be approved under terms of his probation.

According to the site, it was a highly emotional day for the rapper.

But he really choked up when he addressed the judge directly, saying … “I’m not a gangsta. I’m not a criminal.” He added, “I have my queen, Nicki [Minaj] now. I’m trying to do better and feel like I can be the best rapper out there.”

Judge Brinkley ruled he was in “technical violation” but didn’t decide his punishment yet. She set sentencing for February and said Meek cannot leave a 5 county area around Philly before then.

One lighter moment in the courtroom came when Meek’s attorney asked him to talk about his “nomination” for the song he did on the “Creed” soundtrack. The D.A. quickly interrupted and said, “He’s in consideration! He’s not nominated.” Several people in the court reacted out loud, including one who yelled, “Hater!”

It seems like the D.A. is trying to keep Meek down by any means necessary. All jokes aside, we really hope he catches a break this time around.
