Bobby Shmurda Pleads Not Guilty to Drug and Gun Charges
Bobby Shmurda Pleads Not Guilty, Held On $2 Million Bail
Bobby Shmurda‘s 2014 went from viral hit of the summer to a defendant against a serious accusation. The rapper, born Ackquille Pollard, was arrested at a recording studio near the Radio City Music Hall on Dec. 17. as part of a sting stemming from a long-term investigation of gang-related shootings and drug-related activity.
Today (Dec. 18), Manhattan’s state Supreme Court ordered Shmurda to be held on $2 million bail after getting hit with gun and drug charges. He’ll plead not guilty, and his lawyer Howard Greenberg thinks it’s crazy he even caught a case.
“Does it make sense that he would resort to committing crimes when he has the world in the palm of his hand?” Greenberg said. “It’s ridiculous.”
Members from his GS9 crew, including Rowdy Rebel, Shmurda’s partner in crime, were also arrested. Police also seized 21 guns in the sting.
Shmurda’s aggressive lyrics aren’t that far from his prior arrest history. His criminal history includes gun and drug possessions.
