According to reports, Stone was traveling in a sprinter van near Montgomery, Alabama, when the vehicle was struck by an 18-wheeler, causing it to overturn. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family released a statement expressing their profound grief, noting, “She lived and died doing what she loved most.”

Born in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1961, Angie Stone’s musical journey began with gospel music, influenced by her father’s quartet.
