Lil Boosie’s Labelmate Lil Phat Killed In Atlanta
The rap world has lost another to violence. Rapper Lil Phat was fatally shot outside of Atlanta area medical center Northside Hospital. He was only 19 years old.
The Atlanta Constitution-Journal reports Atlanta police identified Phat, birth name Melvin Vernell III, last night. Officers are said to be looking for “two black males … seen running from the location at the time of the shooting.” A motive for the senseless killing is still unknown.

Lil Phat was killed at 6:40 pm as he sat in a parked car on the 1001 block of Johnson Ferry Road. Lil phat was shot multiple times as he sat in a parked car on the second level of a parking deck. Phat was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to a nearby hospital.
Lil Phat was signed to Trill Entertainment along with Webbie, Lil Boosie, and Foxx. He dropped an album called Trill 4 Life.
