Another song from Sparkle’s soundtrack is Whitney Houston’s soulful rendition of “His Eye Is On The Sparrow.” Reports from the set have said Whitney performs the song in a showstopping scene. When they filmed her performance of the signature gospel song, the cast and crew were in tears after Whitney got through with the scene.

Though her voice wasn’t back to where it was during The Bodyguard years, Whitney Houston’s version of “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” shows the steps to retrieving her voice. It is also a sign of the determination Whitney Houston had to regain her former glory. “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” is a testament to that.
