Say Word? Elmo Is A Black Man!
In all my years watching my kids watch “Sesame Street”, I never gave much thought to who was doing Elmo’s voice. As it turns out, the loveable monster is voiced by Kevin Clash, a Baltimore native who is a co-executive producer for Sesame Street. I will humbly accept my late pass and report to detention.
If you were just as unaware, there is a chance to play catch up with the film Being Elmo: A Puppeteer’s Journey being released soon. It won the special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film festival earlier this year and you can watch the trailer below. (spotted @ Blackthespian)
