Melissa De Sousa Dishes On “The Best Man” Sequel
Actress Melissa De Sousa, best known as snooty, ball-buster Shelby in The Best Man revealed to Latina.com that she is in talks to reprise her role in a sequel to the 1999 hit romantic comedy. Melissa said “It’s delicious, I can’t wait!” Even now, women still come up to her on the streets, and say about her iconic character ” I love you, you’re just like me!” The 43 year old Panamanian actress also says she’s happy to see fellow Afro-Latina actresses like Zoe Saldana getting their shine (De Sousa and Saldana played sisters in the 2005 indie drama Constellation). De Sousa shares “I definitely think Latinos are making their mark and it’s much more prevalent than it was in the past.”
