In a press release circulated today, Michael Rapaport claims that Sony Pictures Classics purchased the rights to his documentary on A Tribe Called Quest. The documentary premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Despite the press release, which appeared on Indiewire.com, Q-Tip hopped on Twitter to refute the claims. In a reply to a tweet about the acquisition made by RapRadar’s Elliott Wilson, Q-Tip simply called the press release “bullsh*t.”
