Denzel Washington Writes Check To House Families Of Wounded Soldiers
Denzel Washington Donates Money To Families Of Wounded Soldiers
In our desire to post something positive for once we jumped the gun on this story. Actor Denzel Washington did visit a military base in Texas–but in 2004. And according to the president of the Fisher Houses, David Coker, while Washington did make a sizeable donation months after his visit, he did not “write a check out on the spot.”
Evidently this story has been circulating on the Internet for some time and keeps resurfacing (probably in times of dire need, like when someone like Charlie Sheen becomes a trending topic.) While it is not entirely true, we still applaud Denzel Washington for his generosity.
