Dr. Heavenly Kimes Announces Run for Georgia State Representative

Dr. Heavenly Kimes is trading in her white coat for a campaign button.
The Married to Medicine star and well-known cosmetic dentist has officially entered the political arena. Kimes, 54, is running for Georgia State Representative in District 93 on the Democratic ticket, bringing with her decades of professional experience and community involvement.

“I’m not a politician by trade — I’m a mom, a doctor, and a business owner,” Kimes said in a statement announcing her candidacy. “But I care deeply about my community, and I’m ready to get to work on the issues that matter.”
Her campaign will officially kick off with a public rally on Tuesday, July 8 at 5 p.m. outside the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta. Supporters are invited to attend in their “Dr. Heavenly for Georgia” T-shirts and help energize the start of what she calls a movement.
Kimes plans to focus her campaign on four major areas: increasing access to healthcare, supporting small businesses, improving education, and promoting economic opportunities. These issues, she says, come directly from her lived experience as someone who’s worked closely with patients, mentored young professionals, and built a business from the ground up.

“I’ve dedicated my life to helping people take control of their futures,” she said. “Now I want to take that passion to the Capitol to help even more families.”
Fans of Married to Medicine have watched Kimes since season 2 of the hit Bravo reality show. Known for her sharp wit and direct approach, she’s become a standout figure on the series. Off-screen, she owns several dental practices and runs Dr. Heavenly University, a platform that helps aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals succeed.
Kimes isn’t the first reality star to make the leap into politics — Bravo viewers may recall Barbara Kavovit’s 2021 run for NYC mayor or Thomas Ravenel’s political history in South Carolina. But Kimes stands out for her longstanding professional career and deep community roots.

Her campaign is already getting support from familiar faces, too. Fellow Married to Medicine star Quad Webb has stepped in as her campaign manager, helping organize outreach and events as the campaign heats up.
Filming is underway for season 12 of Married to Medicine, and it’s possible fans will get a behind-the-scenes look at Kimes’ political journey on the upcoming season.

As she puts it, “Our people deserve real representation — someone who knows the struggles, but also knows how to build solutions. That’s why I’m running.”
