Brit Eady has finally spoken up after a whirlwind season on The Real Housewives of Atlanta and is setting the record straight about a scandal that’s followed her for months. The drama started during Kenya Moore’s hair spa opening in June 2023, when Moore displayed graphic images of a woman performing a sexual act. At the time, most people—including Eady herself—believed the images were of Eady, who was feuding with Moore.

Now, Eady says that assumption was wrong.

On Thursday, June 5, Eady took to Instagram to explain her side. She said she had never actually seen the image until recently, and after finally viewing it, she realized it wasn’t her at all. “That photo was not me,” she wrote, adding that her earlier reaction was based on what others told her about the image. “As the episode makes clear, I did not see the photo at the time. I was made aware of it being presented and assumed it was somehow a photo of me—which is why I reacted the way I did.”

When the episode aired, viewers saw Eady show up to Moore’s event with flowers and an apology, hoping to make peace after a previous argument. Moore declined the gesture, and Eady left before the image was revealed to the other guests.

Eady said the entire situation has taken a toll on her emotionally. “The events of this season have devastated me,” she admitted, but she’s now focused on healing and moving forward. “I look forward to seeking accountability and moving past this dark part of my life.”

Both Eady and Moore were absent from the season 16 reunion. Moore was suspended from the show following an internal investigation, and a source told PEOPLE she wasn’t invited to film the reunion. Eady chose not to attend either, and used the time instead to speak her truth online.

The situation between Eady and Moore grew even more intense after claims surfaced that Eady had threatened Moore with a gun during filming. One insider said Moore felt unsafe and wasn’t being taken seriously. Another source close to the show denied that a weapon was ever present. On camera, Eady was seen bragging about having a “pistol” for Moore, but later walked it back, saying it was a mistake made in anger and that she never had a gun on her.

Moore later apologized during an appearance on Tamron Hall, saying she regretted how far she took things and that she was “sorry” for her actions.

Now, with both women off the show—for now—Eady seems ready to move past the drama and reclaim her peace.
