Danity Kane’s Aubrey O’Day & Dawn Richard Set to Testify Against Diddy

Two former members of Danity Kane are stepping into the spotlight once again — but this time, it’s not for music. Dawn Richard and Aubrey O’Day are both expected to testify against their former mentor, Sean “Diddy” Combs, in his ongoing federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial.

Dawn Richard is set to take the stand on Friday, May 16, according to multiple reports. She previously filed a lawsuit against Diddy, alleging that he physically assaulted her and was abusive toward Cassie Ventura in her presence. Her testimony is expected to provide key insight into Diddy’s alleged treatment of women within his inner circle.

Aubrey O’Day, who became a breakout star on MTV’s Making the Band alongside Richard, has also confirmed her role in the trial. Us Weekly reports that O’Day, 41, was subpoenaed and traveled to New York City this week to testify. A source close to the singer said, “It’s nerve-wracking, but she’s ready. She’s not going to back down. She wants justice for everyone.” The source also revealed that O’Day is currently working on a project tied to the case.
In a recent Instagram post from New York, O’Day hinted at her presence in the city, posting a video with the caption, “Hey New York!!! Where y’all think I should head first?” followed by a justice scale emoji. Many interpreted the post as a subtle nod to her upcoming testimony.

Both women were part of Danity Kane, the girl group that Diddy created and managed during the mid-2000s. The group saw massive success but was also known for internal drama and eventual disbandment. O’Day was famously dismissed from the group by Diddy during the Making the Band 4 finale in 2008.

Meanwhile, Diddy remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges, which include sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit racketeering. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, continues to defend him publicly, stating, “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal… These are the acts of an innocent man.”
