Shyne’s life story is about to be told in movie form. The former rapper says he was set up to be the fall guy for Diddy in his new documentary.
As reported by thegrio, the former Bad Boy Entertainment star has totally transformed his life from rapper to politician. This week, Hulu revealed the trailer to The Honorable Shyne, and the two-minute clip summarizes his journey of what viewers can anticipate from the film. As expected he touches on the evening of Dec. 27, 1999, where he, Diddy and his entourage went to Club New York. That night a shooting occurred that left several patrons and nightclub employees injured. Police caught Shyne exiting the establishment with a gun on his person. He is accused of the shooting but maintained he shot in the air and his bullets did not injure bystanders.
During the trial a ballistics expert took the stand and testified that the injuries were caused by a second gunman. Nevertheless, Shyne was convicted on charges of assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of an illegal weapon and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Diddy was acquitted on all counts. Victim Natania Reuben has always maintained that she saw Diddy shoot her at the nightclub. In the clip for the documentary the “More or Less” rapper bluntly says, “I was absolutely set up to be the fall guy.”
