Novella Nelson was best known for her role in “Antwone Fisher” playing his abusive adoptive mother.

She played in many roles over that last six decades and according to The Daily News passed away at the age of 77.
Nelson was seen in shows such as “Law and Order: SVU,” “One Life to Live,” “Sex and the City” and more.
The Brooklyn born actress passed away and there is no cause of death.
She was just honored last year by New York’s New Federal Theater for her continuous contribution to African-American theater and film.
Her family and friends will remain in our prayers.
